To us, Jeremy is a son, a brother, and a friend.  He had an amazing fun-loving young life that was brought to a halt without warning by a incalculable car accident.  The extent of his injuries could have easily ended his life.  There were many times we could've easily said goodbye to Jeremy, and let nature take it's course without surgical intervention.

We stood together as Jeremy's family, and could not give up on him.  We knew that Jeremy did not want to die.  We all knew that Jeremy had a will to live.  He is still alive today because of that will.  He struggles daily to make progress despite the injuries that have left him alive, but unable to care for himself.  Thus, the reason for The Jeremy Rudolph Trust, and this website.

Although Jeremy receives federal aid for his medical expenses through Medicaid, his treatments are regulated by the government and therefore very limited.  He is afforded room and board in an assisted care facility (nursing home), and is basically treated to maintain his good health.   Rehabilitative treatments are covered; but on a limited basis.  Essentially, the methods of treatment that could help him the most may not be provided by or paid for by Medicaid; or the assisted care facility he is currently quartered within.  Jeremy, and the quality of his care are completely controlled by organizations who know him generally, but may not be as aware of his individual specific needs as we, his family and friends are.

The purpose of this website is to forge a way for The Jeremy Rudolph Trust to reach others and broaden the visibility of our cause to society using the vast exposure of the internet.  As more visitors frequent the site, more will gain an understanding of Jeremy, his story, and his struggles; and the closer we can come to reaching our goal.  That goal, is to bring Jeremy home where he can be cared for on an individual basis; surrounded by his family and friends all day, every day.  This type of care we believe is essential for Jeremy and his recovery.  We want Jeremy to have a full recovery, and we know that it's possible if we (his family) are the ones making the decisions concerning his welfare.  We also want Jeremy to live as full of a life as he can possibly accomplish, despite his injuries and handicaps that hinder him.  Surrounded by family and friends in his own home we believe will dramatically increase his chances to live a fuller more enjoyable life.

Although The Jeremy Rudolph Trust will accept any and all contributions for any reason, the original goal was set forth by Jeremy's father; Joe Rudolph, the original establisher of the trust and the primary contributor to Jeremy's recovery and rehabilitation effort.  His objective:  to find 1 million fathers throughout the world who would be willing to donate a mere $5 to The Jeremy Rudolph Trust

--One million fathers who would read Jeremy's story and understand from a father's perspective what he went through the night he received the phone call from the emergency room after Jeremy's accident.

--One million fathers who would read Jeremy's story and understand from a father's perspective what his family and friends continue to go through every day as we watch Jeremy struggle through his life.

--One million fathers who would do the same thing he is doing if what happened to Jeremy happened to their own child.

We are not asking for sympathy, only empathy.  Regardless if a donation is made or not, if Jeremy's story touched you, then we have accomplished another goal--opening your's and everyone's eyes to some very serious and consequential reality.  Life has a way of humbling us, but God has a way of helping us believe in miracles.

This website is here to promote The Jeremy Rudolph Trust and to aid in reaching our ultimate goal of bringing Jeremy home.
